Happy Cards

I'm so done with snow, the cold and school being canceled. So I'm back today with some happy cards I made to cheer me up when I see this outside my window this morning AGAIN (after being woken up at 5am to be notified about school)!

When I saw the Lizzy Jones's February Color Play palette the other day, I knew I just had to make a card with these colors. Such a happy and pretty combination.

My card design is inspired by the Clean & Simple Stamping challenge. I used a sentiment from PTI Half & Half and cut several of the Snowflake Flurries dies in Aqua Mist, Hibiscus Burst (with Raspberry Fizz stamped on it), and Sweet Blush. Topped them all of with an enamel dot.

My second happy card uses the Simon Says Stamp Absolutely die. I always forget I have it and each time I use it, I kick myself for not using it more often.

I cut the Absolutely panel using Pure Poppy patterned cardstock and stamped scattered circles from Sketched Shapes in red and teal to go along with the colors at Dynamic Duos this week. Love how these two bold colors look against the white.

Hope these cards bring you a bit of sunshine in this cold. And if its not cold where you are, please send your warmth our way!
Thanks for stopping by!

  1. such pretty, bold & graphic cards - really like them both but I'm particularly fond of the "Color Play" one - I love the sentiment (still on my wish list LOL) and the Snowflake Flurries - well they weren't on my radar... until now!

Try & stay warm and think of the weather as your excuse to make cards :-)

  4. Way to take advantage of the snow day, Sherrie! Beautiful cards...perfect for the challenges! Funny thing...this morning we all got up and got ready for school, THEN got the call that it was cancelled for snow. Grrr! We were all up and dressed and ready to go! At least I got to make a card today, too!

  6. I'm gathering strength to go out and shovel once again, so I absolutely understand how you feel. Here's to spring coming sooner than the six weeks the groundhogs predicted.
Love the card you made with the PTI colors. It is so joyful and definitely captures the essence of those colors - at least the way I imagine them.

  8. Both cards are bright and cheery! Great antidote to the weather... I think you should use that ABSOLUTELY die more often, too! It packs a great visual punch, and works so well for our primary colour challenge this week. Love your sketchy circles, too. Thanks for playing along with Dynamic Duos!
