I'm really excited about all the cool stuff going on in the Clean & Simple 3 - One Layer Cards classroom this week. There are so many inspiring videos and great techniques to try that I am determined to make at least one card during class for each technique. And I'm stating that right here hoping it will make me accountable.
First up is the inlaid die cut technique. Debby Hughes' video was really great, especially the part where she tells me to keep a container handy to catch all the little pieces that fall out with the nested die cuts. I heard it but really didn't think it was THAT important. Well, turns out that a container would have been SO helpful because I spent a good forty minutes looking for the little pieces to puzzle back together. Yikes! Didn't help that my craft space was already a mess and I think my design involved one too many inlaid pieces. I almost gave up when I couldn't find two tiny little pieces. But I was liking my card so much that I kept on looking until I found them.
My color inspiration is from PTI's March Color Play palette.
How are you enjoying Clean & Simple 3? Fun stuff right?
Thanks for popping by!
Beautiful card! I think we must've been looking for our tiny little pieces about the same time! I didn't think to keep a jar handy, either, for those things. My cat kept getting in my way, too. You did a really good job on your card!
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous! I struggled with those two teeny pieces as well......notice my sentiment ended up being a short hi!
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing and really stood out to me among the other cards. Love the colours and it is die cut perfectly. Brilliant job!!

ReplyDeleteLove this card. And, I am in love with this technique as well. I did have a little box for my tiny pieces, and it was a big help.
