OLS Challenge #4
It's the beginning of a new month so its time for a new challenge at One Layer Simplicity.
I'm loving this challenge because I love making clean and simple cards. The one layer part, well, that's a challenge. The rules of the challenge are very strict - no other layers of paper allowed. Which I am interpreting to mean that my new favorite technique of inlaid die cuts is not allowed. But I love having to come up with new ways to make a one layer card unique and with dimension.
This month's challenge is to make a travel themed card. Yay! I've been dying to ink up the new City Scene set I just got. I kept it simple with a dry embossed frame around the card. I added an oval shadow to the bottom of the Eiffel Tower which was heat embossed in black. Simple red sentiment to top it off.
I'm keeping City Scene out for a while to play around a bit I think. So many possibilities with this great set. Thanks for taking a peek. Have a good day.

Love your card and stitched border!
ReplyDeleteLove the clean feel of this - my kids are in French immersion and this simple design would be a fantastic gift for their teachers! So glad you joined us at OLS!
ReplyDeleteFabulous one layer card. I, too, like the challenge of one layer. You did a great job of keeping your images really focused, and I love your embossed border.
ReplyDeleteI think your simple colour scheme is incredibly effective here. And the oval to ground the design, perfect.
