CASology #248 COMMENCEMENT

Happy Tuesday! Can't believe its mid-May already. Since June and the season of graduations are just around the corner, this week's CASology challenge word - Commencement - is very appropriate.

I have been inspired by the gorgeous eye candy at  fancy card shops like Paper Source and Papyrus lately. One thing I've noticed is that the most elegant, higher priced cards have gold embossing on it. So for my card this week I wanted to create an elegant graduation card with gold embossing.

I used the PTI Enclosed:Graduate die to cut two graduation caps. I used the same color for the both the caps and the card base so the card would have a tone-on-tone look and give slight dimension. Plus the tone-on-tone maintains 'white' space. The tassels were cut out of PTI gold adhesive paper. I left space in the middle for an embossed sentiment. The gold shimmer of the tassels and the sentiment looks so elegant in real life.

Its gonna be perfect for my nephew's high school graduation next month.

Be sure to check out what the DT came up with for COMMENCEMENT:
