Summer Card Camp Week 3 Day 2

Summer Card Camp today brought die cutting techniques. I was inspired by Jennifer's video on embossing die cuts to make this card:

I die cut the hydrangea and stem in this week's colors palette, stamped them in the matching ink and then clear embossed them afterward to get the thick shiny look you can see in the second photo. The vase was die cut in kraft and embossed with a mix of two embossing powders - light and dark brown. I created a frame panel with the PTI quatrefoil die for extra interest and embossed the sentiment on the card base for an extra punch.

This week's color palette of two shades of purple, aqua, and two shades of brown is quite a challenge for me. I don't use purple and these colors don't come together for me naturally. But Jennifer's tip to use the color in small doses was just the push I need to play with these colors. More to come!

Thanks for stopping by!
