Color Play August 2014

As soon as I saw this month's Color Play challenge (PTI Inspiration Archives), I knew I wanted to pair it with the Summer Sweetness set. The color combo is gorgeous, screams summer, and boy does that picture make me hungry for those sugar coated sweets!

Instead of using the stamps I wanted to play around with the dies because I also was inspired by this week's Cutting Edge challenge.  Its my first time playing with this challenge but I've been intrigued by it ever since it started.

I cut a banner from the wine bottle tag but cut off the top part. I die cut various popsicles in hibiscus burst, limeade ice, and berry sorbet and paper pieced the popsicle sticks in kraft.

I adhered the popsicles with foam tape so they jump off the banner and heat embossed the sentiment in white. I dry embossed the white card base with a tiny triangles embossing folder for a little more interest.

I'm excited to use this card for our end of year camp counselor gifts. Maybe I'll just copy this design for everyone....just have to cut and emboss in batches.

Thanks for stopping by!
